The Big 4 rule the rankings… again!

Is the Big 4 domination over? Not yet!

Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray occupy once again the top spots of the rankings after Andy leap-frogged Wawrinka and Nishikori to become the new world no.4

Djokovic

After his new triumph in Melbourne, Nole has won his 8th slam to dramatically increase the gap vs. Federer. The Serb has now a 3800pts lead over Roger. He will stay no.1 for long time…

Federer

Roger had a surprisingly disappointing Australian Open after crashing out in the 3rd round against Andreas Seppi. The Swiss has still a comfortable lead over Rafa that is 3500pts behind, but he won’t have any chance to be world no.1 any soon.

Nadal

Rafa had a “decent” Australian open after reaching the quarters without feeling 100% prepared for the tournament. The Spaniard is still world no.3, but he needs to have a solid clay court season if he doesn’t want to be overtaken from Murray and Nishikori.

Murray

Andy had a great Australian Open to lose in the final against Djokovic. The Scot has now gained 2 places to be the new world no.4. Next target: Rafa.

Wawrinka

Stan lost lots of points (1280) after reaching the semifinal in Melbourne. The Swiss has lost 5 places to be now ranked world no.9 (probably his “fair value”).

Kyrgios

Nick had a great result in Melbourne after reaching the quarters in precarious conditions. The Australian has reached a new career high (world no. 35) after gaining 18 places. More to come.

Tomic

Bernard had a decent Australian Open (he lost in the 4th round to Tomas Berdych). Tomic has gained 18 places to be ranked no. 48. Encouraging.
