Ranked no.104, the 18-year-old is having an impressing run in Rio de Janeiro where he defeated the seed no.2 and the defending champion Fabio Fognini in the opener 6-2 6-3. Later he defeated Christian Garin 7-5 6-4, Jaume Munar 6-4 6-3, and in the semifinal Pablo Cuevas 6-3 3-6 6-3. The Canadian is sure he will get in the top60 after this week, if he wins he will be close to the top40.
Djere
Ranked no.90, the Serbian impressed also in the first round after he defeated Dominic Thiem 6-3 6-3. Then he beat Taro Daniel 6-4 6-2, Casper Ruud 6-4 7-5, and he had a free ticket in the final after Bedene withdrew before playing the semifinal.
