After the match, Felix commented
“It’s unbelievable. It’s so surreal. I always believe in myself but honestly, today, I had a slight chance to win I felt because Pablo is an unbelievable player. He won the tournament here, he’s really experienced. But from the start, I felt good. After the first set I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to have a chance in this.’ I’m really happy.”
After this week, Felix will gain at least 45 places to be the new world no.59. If he wins the tournament he will be ranked close to the top40.
The final vs. Djere
Felix has a real shot at winning his first ATP500 as he will face the world no.90 Laslo Djere in the final. They have never played each other so far.
