Stefanos Tsitsipas is capturing the attention all over the world with his great results and his interesting personality. The world no.12 has built up a huge fan base among the Greek community and his support was decisive to help the idea of giving back an official ATP tournament to Athens.
It’s the Tennis Greek Federation to announce that the event will take place in 2020 and it will be played at the Panathenaic Stadium that is the only stadium in the world to be made entirely of marble. The stadium was built in 330 BC!
What Tsitsipas said about the ATP250 and the Panathenaic Stadium
Back in September, Stefanos shared his hope about having a tournament in Greece to say
“I know some people back home that are interested in doing this, and they showed me the project of how the tournament is going to look.
I was fascinated. It is in Athens of course, but I was surprised at the location because it’s actually very clever to stage this tournament there.”
