Naomi Osaka admitted that she struggled with her nerves last year after she won her maiden title in Indian Wells to recover after a few weeks. The Japanese was pretty good in keeping her focus and mental strength following her amazing title at the US Open, and she looked rock solid also at the Australian Open.
However, the new world no.1 has been experiencing a rather tough moment in the past few weeks especially after her sudden split with her former coach Sascha Bajin who was instrumental for Naomi to keep her balance during this run.
The Japanese imploded in her first match after the Australian Open title to lose 6-3 6-3 in Dubai against the world no.67 Kiki Mladenovic that before this event she wasn’t able to win a single match in 2019.
Naomi admitted that she is struggling with her nerves and for the attention that she is having all over the world. According to some top players, she will get used to it.

She might need a couple of matches. KVITOVA
During a press conference in Dubai, Petra commented
“I think winning a Grand Slam for the first time and being No.1; I don’t know if I would really feel pressure. From my opinion, the pressure had to be bigger for her after the US Open because that was the bigger surprise than now. Now, she’s played so well to win two Grand Slams and be World No.1. Everybody expects her to win all of her matches right now, because she’s the best.
I thought she was handling the pressure well, but maybe being here in Asia, plus it’s her first tournament she’s played, she might need a couple of matches.”

Simona also sympathized with Naomi recalling that she had to endure a similar situation to say
“Nobody has or had what I had in Romania. Trust me that I am strong, that I could resist these things. 2014 was the worst, then one more year, then that was it. Now I’m feeling good.”
