Simona Halep wins one her typical battles in the 3rd round in Dubai.
The Romanian was opposed with Lesya Tsurenako for the 6th time in her career, and the world no.2 was already enjoying a strong 5-0 record against the Ukrainian.
The match
After winning the first set, Simona had to battle hard in the second. First, the Romanian recovered from a 0-2 deficit to win 3 consecutive games (3-2). Later, things got complicated again later when she was broken in the 9th game (4-5). Nevertheless, Tsurenko failed to serve out the set, and Simona conquered the following 3 games before winning 6-3 7-5.

Simona was extremely happy after her win to comment
“I feel close to my highest level. My mindset now is just to finish the points as quick as possible. I’m trying to be more aggressive. I’m more relaxed. I don’t put pressure on myself. Also, I have no expectations. When I feel that, I play better.”
