Emma Raducanu, who suffered a left ankle injury just ten days before the first Grand Slam tournament of the year began, gave some insight into how her “unorthodox” Australian Open preparation looked. Raducanu severely injured her ankle during her round of 16 match in Auckland.
Despite having a painful and damaged ankle, Raducanu was able to get herself well enough to compete at the Australian Open. After fighting wrist and ankle issues for a while, Raducanu made the decision to have multiple surgeries last month.
On the post she published on Instagram, she said:
“A little insight into my unorthodox prep for the last grand slam in AUS this January. We had 10 days to try to get my ankle match ready from scratch. I’ll be sharing more on my recent recovery process on my @airwayzofficial channel so sign up at the link in bio to stay tuned!!”
