Super Sharapova dismantles Bouchard. Makarova next

What a match form Maria Sharapova!

The Tennis Queen was 100% focused on this match against her heiress Genie Bouchard to show a blasting performance. The Russian won 6-3 6-2 after just 78 minutes.

Maria was wild in blasting winners from all over the court and she didn’t really leave much to Genie that wasn’t playing that bad. Maria was just too good. The result is a bit too harsh for Genie, but Maria deserved this win.

Maria scored 66 points vs. Genie’s 46. The Russian fired 19 winners with 18 unforced errors). Genie scored 13 winners with 30 unforced errors (we can debate here on the notion of “unforced” as Maria was putting an amazing pressure on the Canadian).

Sharapova: I had a good start

Maria commented “I thought I had a really good start (3-0). I kept my focus throughout the whole match. I didn’t feel that I had too many letdowns, which is important.

When I did have a few slips I was able to come out with great first serves or really powerful returns.”

Genie: I felt the pressure

Genie wasn’t (obviously) happy for the result I felt under pressure the whole time, a bit on my back foot. That’s not how I want to play. I feel like I didn’t start well, and it kind of all went downhill from there.”

The semis vs. Makarova

Maria will play compatriot Ekaterina Makarova that has pulled out an amazing upset after trashing Simona Halep 6-3 6-0. Head to head is 5-0 for Maria that is the hot favorite to reach the final

Prediction: Sharapova in 3
