Alize Cornet took a dig at Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes Tormo for their behaviour that resulted in Aldila Sutjiadi and Miyu Kato’s defaulting from the 2023 French Open. Tennis enthusiasts are ecstatic about Alize’s position.
The ball girl was crying after being hit, therefore, Bouzkova and Sorribes Tormo protested to the umpire and asked for a default. Kato and Sutjiadi were subsequently disqualified by the chair umpire after discussions with the supervisor.
Bouzkova and Sorribes Tormo advanced to the quarterfinals as a result. Thereafter, Miyo Kato apologized in front of the world on social media, making it clear that she didn’t mean to hit the ball girl. She added that she had to give up both her points and her prize money.
Alize replied in support of Aldila Sutjiadi and Miyu Kato without missing the chance of taking a dig at their opponents: “Insane decision. I really feel sorry for you but a lot of players (except Marie and Sara obviously) are supporting you.”
