Novak Djokovic is Rod Laver’s pick for this Austrlian Open. The Tennis Legend thinks that the Serb is in pole position especially after the surprising demise of Roger Federer.
Nole first, Rafa second
Rod sees Djokovic as the top favorite, but Rafa is now there “Nadal is an incredible player, and when he plays you can appreciate his energy on the court. And this is fantastic. This year he began not at his maximum, but in the last two matches, especially against Kevin Anderson, he showed his great tennis. Rafa has reached the necessary form and not only physical after being several months out of the circuit. Now he will be the most fearful player for the others. He is always dangerous.
Now is the second favorite, given the state of the form of the other, and also because Novak Djokovic is playing very well. Nole and Rafa are likely candidates to win the title, but they have to win three more matches”.
