Simona Halep ends her coaching relationship after 1 week!

The Romanian decided to split with her new coach Thierry van Cleemput almost immediately

Weird stuff in Simona Halep’s camp.

The former world no.1 ends her relationship with her new coach Thierry van Cleemput after just 1 week. Simona stated that they were partnering on a trial basis for 1 month, but especially after she had a good run in Doha, it seemed as things were going well.  Simona reached the final in Qatar where she stumbled at the last hurdle after she was leading 6-3 2-0.

Why Halep split with her new coach

Simona explained

“We tried for one week, and it’s finished. We decided to stop because we are not a good fit together. He’s a good person, a very nice person, but on court the chemistry is not there.

We couldn’t fit each other tennis-wise. Personally, he is a very nice person. We are friends.”

Simona is currently in Dubai where she will face either Genie Bouchard or Vera Lapko in her opener.
