Bouchard not offended by twirl

It’s “twirlgate” again. Genie Bouchard has just finished playing a tricky match against Carolina Garcia  in Melbourne to be prodded again over the so-called “twirlgate”.

What happened

After playing the previous match, the Canadian has been asked form the presenter to twirl. That sparked a (useless) controversy as the request has been deemed as sexist.

Genie plays it down

Bouchard played down the controversy during the press conference “I’m not offended. I’m fine with being asked to twirl if they ask the guys to flex. I think it was an in-the-moment thing and it was funny.”

Genie will now play the Begu in the 4th round.
