Australian Open helps preserve Nadal

2 days ago Rafael Nadal has won an incredibly tough match against Smyczek after going through all sorts of physical problems. According to Uncle Toni Rafa may have suffered from a heat stroke so the organization of the Australian Open decided to take some measures to avoid some more problems to the Spaniard.

After Rafa’s struggle the organization decided to schedule Rafa’s match vs. Sela as the last match in the evening.

From Craig Tyler

The Director of the Australian Open commented “We saw that Rafa lost many liquids and his staff asked us to give him more time to recover. We are in constant contact with the team of players and this decision was a good thing for everyone. Rafael Nadal is one of the great players of this tournament. We have to protect him”.
