Dimitrov wins 5 sets battle vs. Baghdatis

What a battle!

Marcos Baghdatis has been playing a great Australian Open this year to be a huge threat for Grigor Dimitrov. The Cypriot had his usual huge following in Melbourne from the Greek community to lead Grigor 2 sets to 1. The Bulgarian have finally managed to regroup to win the 4th and 5th set with solid tennis. The match ended after 3 hours and 28 minutes.

Grigor: I wasn’t comfortable

Dimitrov commented “It was a tough game for me. [I] didn’t really feel comfortable on the court.  Matches like that really defines I think who you are and how you want to be remembered. I just feel that matches like that, it’s really important to win, even if it’s not on your best days.”

Next vs. Murray.

Grigor will now play Murray in the 4th round. Head to head is 4-2 for Andy.

“It’s a great matchup for me. I’m always excited to play against him. I had a tough loss against him in Paris. I always like that kind of challenge.”
