Patrick Mouratoglou is “not only” the coach that helped Serena Williams to become “the greatest,” but he is also one of the most prominent experts in the world in his field.
The Frenchman has a well-known tennis Academy in France where many players go there to prepare their game, and Patrick loves to find kids with big potential.
Why I liked Stefanos Tsitsipas from the very beginning. MOURATOGLOU
During a recent interview, Patrick talked about when he uncovered Stefanos Tsitsipas 4 years ago and about his invitation to spend a week at his academy.
“He was 16 years old. I loved what I saw. I liked his game style. I understood straight forward that he had great potential. I also learned he is Greek and I have Greek origins. So I contacted his father, who was his coach as well, and I offered him to come to my academy for a week. They came and they never left.”
Stefanos is currently in Rotterdam where he will play his first round against Damir Dzumhur.
