After winning the final, Jo-Wilfried commented

“I am very happy with the way I played this week. It was an amazing moment for me to win here in Montpellier… I have made many efforts to come back [here], so for me it is a good reward and I hope I will be able to continue playing at this level.”

After this win, the Frenchman is projected to gain 70 places to be the new world no.140.

Tsonga will now head to Rotterdam where he will face Thomas Fabbiano in the opener.

I am one of the main columnists for Tennistonic.com. I have been writing about tennis for the last 4 years. My passion for tennis dates back since the days of the Marat Safin challenging Roger Federer. I am a decent club player, but I have never reached those heights 🙂 Interested in the nextgen. Favorite players: Tsitsipas, Shapovalov, Tiafoe, De Minaur, and Coric. Curious to see what it is going to be with Kyrgios even if I am starting to think that he is a lost cause.
