The former world nr.1 had a very disappointing Australian Open. Her hopes to winning the title shattered at a very early stage and even worse she dropped from the 1st spot in the WTA ranking to the 4th.
Apparently one of the problems was her lack of chemistry with Ricardo Sanchez (former coach of Jelena jankovic).
‘We decided to evaluate the collaboration and we agreed to bring it to an end,’ Piotr Wozniacki, Caroline’s father.
According to Sanchez the problem came from some differences with Carolibe’s father (the only coach she has ever had).
‘I have great respect for Piotr, who has never played tennis himself, and for the work he has done,’ said Sanchez.’But he has his way of doing things, and I have mine.’
Sanchez said also that ‘Caroline was just confused’ by having 2 coaches ‘who wanted different things’.
