Carlos Alcaraz, the current world No. 1, is enjoying the wild ride of his remarkable ascent to fame. Alcaraz thought back on his experience as the top seed in a Grand Slam at the age of 20 before the 2023 French Open, which begins on Sunday, May 28.
The Spaniard successfully defended his Barcelona and Madrid championships and earned the top seed. Alcaraz went on to say that he is happy to have accomplished one of his career goals so soon before facing Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli in his first game.
On Friday, Carlos across commented: “Well, for me, it’s still crazy to see myself in top seed in a Grand Slam. But for me, at same time is great. It is something that I work for to be there. Yeah, I’m really happy to be No.1 seed here in Roland-Garros.”
