Because there won’t be any Nadal, Holger Rune believes that the 2023 Roland Garros will be more contested than in the past and that Novak Djokovic has the best chance of winning.
At the competition last year, Djokovic was defeated by Nadal. The year before, Nadal was defeated by Djokovic. Although the Serbian hasn’t had the best preparation for this year’s competition, rising star Holger Rune still believes he has the best chance of winning. Alcaraz, Medvedev, perhaps, and others are among those who could win, and Rune is unquestionably one of them. But, due of the encounter, Djokovic is the favorite for him.
Rune commented:
“I still think Novak is the main favorite for the event. He’s the one with the most slams of who’s playing, the most experience. Then we have Alcaraz. We have Medvedev. We have a lot of guys. I think if I have to pick one favorite, I’ll probably pick Novak. But again, it’s more open because we don’t have Rafa this year who has won 14 times or something like this.”

During this season Carlos has a 30-3 match record. The Spaniard has won 4 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona and Madrid. Alcaraz was the finalist in Rio de Janeiro.
Alcaraz is scheduled to compete next at the French Open (French Open). He will start from the main draw that will commence on the 28th of May.
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz squared off only on 1 occasion. Their current record is 1-0 for Alcaraz. When they played, Carlos Alcaraz won 6-7(5) 7-5 7-6(5) in the semifinal in Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) in May 2022.
