According to the Australian Capital Territory Police, a 32-year-old guy demanded the car keys from Kyrgios’ mother, Noralia and brandished a revolver as a threat. A Telsa Model X is estimated to be worth about $191,000. The man allegedly demanded that Noralia show him how to operate the car before he took it. After the incident, Kyrgios revealed how the Telsa software on his phone allowed him to slow down his vehicle allowing the police to locate and pursue the car. Police have since taken custody of a guy in connection with the incident, and he has been charged with robbery, failing to stop a car for police, driving while intoxicated, operating a car without permission, and obstructing/resisting public officials.

Daniel Horsfall, Kyrgios’ manager and close friend, has verified the tennis player cut his foot while going to help his family. He cut his foot, which was characterized as having a “large laceration,” however it is unclear when or how exactly he did it. He won’t be able to participate in the Roland Garros tournament because of the injury. The good news is that Kyrgios’ knee operation went as planned, according to the player’s team.

This is what Horsfall revealed to the The Canberra Times:
“The knee surgery went as well as it possibly could and his rehabilitation was fantastic and we were at the point where we were doing on-court loading and management. We needed to be at a point that he could comfortably play five sets. Right when we were getting stuck into the loading period, the armed robbery happened at his house. During the ordeal he cut his foot quite badly.

We don’t know when it happened, but it’s quite a large laceration. The location of the wound, it’s been open for almost a week and a half now. It’s not healing correctly and he can’t put in the work on court, so he’s been off court for almost two weeks now.

His knee is fine; it’s just that he can’t get his loading up so we can manage the rest of his body correctly and he doesn’t injure something else when he gets out there.”
