INJURY. Rafael Nadal will not play at Roland Garros according to local press

Rafael Nadal has been sidelined from competition since January 18 due to a psoas injury in his right leg.

Rafael Nadal is still struggling with his injury and according to the local press (Relevo), he will not play the French Open. As per the Spanish outlet, The Spaniard will miss the Paris Grand Slam because he did not fully heal from his psoas injury.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion will not travel to Paris to defend his title because of ongoing medical pain. On June 3, Nadal will be 37. Despite his best efforts, the deadlines have not been kind to him, and he will continue not to compete. Nadal will hold a press conference tomorrow at 4:00 pm at his academy in Manacor, according to his team.

Since sustaining a psoas injury in his right leg on January 18 during the second round of the Australian Open, the Spaniard has been sidelined from competition. He was initially expected to be out for six to eight weeks, but the recovery process has grown increasingly challenging. Nadal does not currently have a return date, but he will not return until at least the grass circuit. The period of Wimbledon is July 3–16.
