Alexander Bublik entertains with underarm serve vs. Casper Ruud in Rome

Alexander Bublik played a fictitious underarm stroke in his match against Casper Ruud, which caused the crowd to erupt and Ruud to smile.

Bublik Ruud

Alexander Bublik had one of his days in Rome against Casper Ruud before losing in three sets 6-1 4-6 7-6(0). The opening set was a sheer disaster for Alexander who gave a little show at the very end.

Bublik’s encounter versus Ruud provided him with the chance to display his diverse repertoire of unusual shots. The Kazakh, who was born in Russia, made a sign that he would play an underarm serve as he got ready to serve. He then grinned, instantly changed his mind, and extended his hands to Ruud in an apology.

Bublik, however, was not yet finished with his shenanigans. He prepared to serve once more and played a fictitious underarm stroke this time. Bublik was unable to return the shot with his racquet because Ruud was prepared for it. This caused the crowd to erupt, and Ruud could not help but smile.
