Naomi Osaka is having a fantastic fortnight at the Australian Open where she has the opportunity to win her second consecutive slam and become the new world no.1.
The Japanese is currently in the semifinals after she defeated Elina Svitolina in the quarters to face Karolina Pliskova for a place in the final.
I am not satisfied. I want to win the Australian Open.
During the press conference that followed her match against Svitolina, Naomi impressed with her self confidence to comment
“I’m not really satisfied. I am happy that I’m here, but at the same time, I want to keep going. There is more matches to win,” Osaka said after winning 6-1, 6-4 on Wednesday.
For me right now I just try to keep looking forward. It feels really good.
This is something that I have been working on a lot, which is, like, trying to get deeper in tournaments more consistently. I think I have been able to do that.”
Naomi will face Karolina Pliskova for a place in the final on Thursday. The H2H is 2-1 for Karolina.
