The Japanese sensation was opposed to the world no.12 Anastasija Sevastova that has always been a tough opponent for the world no.4. Before this encounter, the H2H between Naomi and the Latvian was 2-all. Therefore Osaka was well aware that an upset was quite possible.

That was enough for Naomi to win the match 4-6 6-3 6-4 in 1 hour and 47 minutes.
