American Danielle Collins concedes only 2 games to Angelique Kerber in the AO 4th round

The American beats Angelique 6-0 6-2 in 56 minutes

Danielle Collins

Weird stuff in Melbourne as the world no. 35 Danielle Collins trashes Angelique Kerber 6-0 6-2 in just 56 minutes.

The match

The contest was absolutely unreal also because Angelique Kerber looked in great form for the entire tournament and she showed fantastic tennis even during the Hopman Cup at the beginning of the year.

The American raced to a 6-0 lead in the first set, but after she was broken in the 1st game of the second set everything was pointing that things were going back to “normal.” Nevertheless, things didn’t change that much and it was Collins to win 6-0 6-2.

From Kerber

Angie commented

“I mean, it was completely not my day. I was not playing the tennis that I can play.

She played really well. I think she played one of her best matches, to be honest. She hit, yeah, every ball in the court. She moves well.

Yeah, for me, was one, not my day, not my good tennis, but credit to her, she played a good match.”
