Sascha Zverev and Alex Bolt are going to face off in the 3rd round of the Australian Open. They are scheduled to play on Saturday at 7 pm in the Rod Laver Arena.
Zverev
Sascha is trying to finally have a deep run at a slam. The 21-year-old has been extremely successful in winning “other” top events (see titles), but it’s time for him to make a move and win a major. The German had a good start in the first round after he defeated Aljaz Bedene 6-4 6-1 6-4. Things got a bit more complicated in the second round against his friend Jeremy Chardy, but eventually the world no.4 won the contest 7-6(5) 6-4 5-7 6-7(6) 6-1.
Bolt
Ranked no.155, the Australian is having the tournament of his life after he defeated Jack Sock 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-2 and Gilles Simon 2-6 6-4 4-6 7-68 6-4 after saving 4 matches points.
H2H Sascha Zverev vs. Alex Bolt
Sascha and Alex have never played each other so far. The German is the obvious favorite to reach the 4th round.
