However, it seems that the Spanish sensation needs to wait a bit longer, even if he defends his title in Madrid. According to the live rankings, if Carlitos conquers the title in Spain, he will be only five points (6770 vs. 6775) shy of the current world number one, Novak Djokovic, who did not take part in the Madrid Open.
