Serena Williams revealed to reporters at the glitzy Met Gala in New York that there were “three of us” on the red carpet as she arrived with husband Alexis Ohanian that she was expecting her second child. The 23-time major champion declared in a Vogue magazine article that she was “evolving away from tennis” and that she wanted to expand her family after having a daughter Olympia in 2017.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the three of us to the Met Gala,” Williams revealed on Social Media.
Williams, a close friend of Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue and co-chair of the Met Gala, regularly attends the annual event to support the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. On Monday, she wore a form-fitting black gown with a white skirt. This year’s event honored the late Chanel designer with the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”. Video from the red carpet showed Reddit co-founder and entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian placing a gentle touch on the 41-year-old Williams’ abdomen.
