Great stuff for Denis Shapovalov that reaches the 3rd round of the Australian Open after a clean win over the world no.82 Taro Daniel.
The Match
The 19-year-old didn’t concede a single service game during the entire contest. In the first set, Denis conquered the decisive break in the 8th game (5-3) before winning 6-3.
There was no break of serve on each side in the 2nd set, and therefore the affair was decided at the breaker. Once again, Shapovalov was dominant to win the tiebreak at 2.
In the third set, the Canadian conquered the decisive break in the 4th game (3-1) before winning the match 6-3 7-6 (2) 6-3 in 2 hours and 8 minutes.
Denis will face either Novak Djokovic or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the 3rd round.
