Mirra Andreeva is a 15-year-old tennis player from Russia who is destined to hit many headlines

Mirra Andreeva

Mirra Andreeva is one of the most interesting up-and-coming tennis players on the WTA Tour. The 15-year-old from Russia is already a top 200 player, and she seems to be destined to break into the top 100 pretty soon. Here is a brief biography with references to her parents, coach, and sister.

Mirra was born in 2007 in Russia, in the big Siberian city of Krasnoyars, 4000 km from Moscow. She has an older sister named Erika who is also a tennis player, and now she’s 18. Both sisters were supported by their parents with the idea of becoming professional players.

Talking about how she started playing tennis, Mirra commented: “Erika started at 5 or 6, maybe even earlier, and since I’m her younger sister, I was always on the court; maybe since I was 21 I was picking up some balls. But I started pretty late. I started at 6.

At the 2022 Jasmin Open, Andreeva made her WTA Tour debut in the main draw after being granted a wildcard for the singles competition. She made the Junior Australian Open final in January 2023.

The Andreeva sisters began playing the sport at home in Siberia, traveled to Sochi to receive formal instruction, and then set up their training headquarters in Cannes, France, with coaches Jean-René Lisnard and Jean-Christophe Faurel. Previously, Faurel mentored Coco Gauff, another young prodigy.

There are no references to Mirra dating a boyfriend. She is still pretty young and totally committed to her development.
