Currently ranked no. 16, Serena is finding her way back to the very top after recovering from her complicated pregnancy. The former world no.1 had an impressive start of her Australian Open campaign after she defeated her friend Tatjana Maria 6-0 6-2 in the first round.
Genie Bouchard
Ranked no. 79, Genie has been managing to have some good performances over the last few weeks. She had a good run in Auckland where she lost in the quarters to Julia Goerges, and she won the title in doubles. She started her Australian Open campaign in an emphatic way after beating Shuai Peng 6-2 6-1.

Serena leads Genie 2-0 in head to head matches. The American is the favorite to get to he 3rd round, but this will be an interesting battle since Bouchard is used to playing her best tennis against top players.
