Aryna Sabalenka keeps on mauling player after player.

The Belarussian has a remarkable 7-1 win-loss record in 2019 after she won the title in Shenzhen and she reached the 4th round in Melbourne (her only loss was in the opener in Sydney at the hands of Petra Kvitova).

In her second round at the Australian Open against the world no. 97 Katie Boulter, Sabalenka blinked only at the very beginning when she conceded her serve. Then, The Belarussian broke back immediately to win 6-3 6-4 in just 73 minutes.

I am excited to play at this level. SABALENKA

After the match, Aryna commented

I’m excited to be on this level, to have this opportunity to play with the great players, be one of the great players. I’m focused on each match. Don’t really want to think about titles, then you’re not respecting your opponent, and you need to respect them because all of them, they’re really great players. All of them, it’s really tough to beat.”

Aryna will face the American teenager Amanda Anisimova in the 3rd round. They have never played each other and Anisimova can definitely pull an upset. This will be a match to watch!
