Roger Federer reaches the 3rd round of the Australian Open after winning a tricky contest.

The match

Roger was meant to have a comfortable ride against the world no.189 Daniel Evans. However, the Brit was quite inspired especially in the first 2 sets when he reached the breaker on both occasions. In the first set, there was no break of service and Federer made it after winning the last 4 points in the tiebreak to recover from a 3-5 deficit.

Federer started strong in the 2nd set to conquer a 2-0 lead, but he looked lethargic at times to fail to serve out the set when leading 5-4. Eventually, Federer won also the second set tiebreak even if he looked a bit shaky.

The  Swiss Maestro was much more convincing in the third set after he conceded just 1 point on serve. The world no.3  conquered the decisive break in the 4th game (3-1) to finally win the match 7-6 (5)7-6 (3) 6-3 in 2 hours and 35 minutes.
