Stefanos Tsitsipas keeps on rising!
The Greek tennis star reaches the 3rd round of the Australian Open after defeating Viktor Troicki in 4 sets.
The match
The Greek was well aware that the former world no.12 would have been a tough customer even if is he currently ranked no.200.
Stefanos impressed with an excellent start to grab a healthy 6-2 lead. Things got a little bit more complicated in the second set as Troicki started to play better and better to win 5 consecutive games to change a 2-6 2-2 all deficit into a 2-6 6-2 1-0. However, Stefanos has already proved to have nerves of steel, and the Greek managed to find his groove again and win 6 of the following 7 games to lead 6-2 2-6 6-2.
The 4th set was extremely even, and the only difference was Tsitsipas conquering the decisive break in the 11th game. The final score was 6-2 2-6 6-2 7-5, and the contest ended after 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Stefanos will now face Nikoloz Basilashvili in the 3rd round on Friday. They have never played each other so far.
