The Japanese appeared in full control of the match and of her emotions even if she admitted that she had some nerves just before the contest. The only moment that Noami was a bit sloppy was when she conceded her serve soon after she broke her opponent in the 3rd game of the opener. Eventually, Naomi broke back again (3-2) before cruising to a 6-4 6-2 win in just 58 minutes.
Naomi will face the world no.79 Tamara Zidansek in the next round, they have never played each other so far.
