Serena Williams and Genie Bouchard are going to clash in the 2nd round of the Australian Open.
Both players are staging a come back coming from entirely different careers. On one side, Genie is trying to rebound from the last 4 years that were definitely not up to everybody’s expectations after she crashed out from the top100 while the Canadian was ranked no.5 when she was just 20. On the other, Serena is trying to come back to her stellar levels after her tricky pregnancy.
The American and the Canadian exchanged nice of compliments ahead of their Australian Open clash.

“She [Genie] does everything well, and I really like that she doesn’t quit. You know, people write her off, and she doesn’t let that bother her. She continues to fight and do what she needs to do.”

Genie commented
“I think she’s the greatest ever. So it’s just so cool that I’ll be able to share the court with her and an opportunity to see how I compare to one of the best players. I mean, her ranking is top 20 right now, but to me, she’s always basically No. 1.?”
