Carlos Alcaraz has a special relationship with his coach and former world number one, Juan Carlos Ferrero. During a recent interview, Juan Carlos explained how he has been helping Carlitos to be one of the top players in the world.

“Having been there, you can give him advice, help, and warn him. Things can happen to him—dangers—but in that aspect, both the rest of the team and I have experience. That is why we are behind him and help him at all times.”

Carlitos is currently in Madrid, where he will try to defend his 2022 title. Alcaraz is seeded no.1 in the Spanish capital and he will face either Ugo Humbert or Emil Ruusuvori in his first match.
