Serena Williams starts in the best possible way her run at the Australian Open after beating Tatjana Maria 6-0 6-2 in just 49 minutes.
Ranked no.73, the German managed to get on the scoreboard only in the 10th game after she was 0-6 0-3 down. Besides that, there was not much to do for Maria as Serena was absolutely spotless in her tennis.

After the match, Serena explained how close she is to Tatjana as they are actual neighbours and their daughters play together.
Serena will face either Genie Bouchard or Shuai Peng in the second round.
