Nishikori wins the Japan Pro Sports Award

Kei Nishikori had a great 2014. The Japanese won 4 tournaments in Memphis, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo, and he reached to prestigious finals in Rome and at the US Open.

The Japanese ended the season as the deserving world no.5 and that was “well received” from his compatriots.

Kei was named the winner of the grand prize at the Japan Pro Sports Awards on Monday. Nishikori was unable to attend the ceremony because he is currently preparing the season in America, so he sent a video message “This was a fulfilling year,” he said. “I want to do my best so I can return to more Grand Slam finals next year.”
