Sofia Kenin has an outstanding starting of the new season. The American won the title in doubles in Auckland with Genie Bouchard and now she triumphs in singles in Hobart.
The 20-year-old dismissed Anna Schmiedlova in the final with a straightforward 6-3 6-0 scoreline to end the week after winning all matches in straight sets.
After the match, Sofia commented
“I’m so happy to have gotten this title,” Kenin said after the match. It was my first year and I’m looking forward to coming back here for many more years to come.”
