Few weeks ago Toni Nadal said that Roger is the best tennis player in tennis history, but he didn’t write off Rafa.
Uncle Toni is well aware that fitness is key for Rafa to compete at the very top (well that applies to everybody), but he also believes that if fit, Nadal can even break Federer’s 17 slam record.
Toni: Rafa can beat Roger
During a recent interview with the L’Equipe, Toni commented “Being happy is more important than breaking records.
But, assuming Rafa stays injury free, I wouldn`t be surprised if he broke Federer`s record. I think it`s not impossible to win more than 17 [slams], although it won`t be easy.”
Nadal is currently training to recover from his series of injuries. In the new season he will compete at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship and then we will play the ATP250 in Qatar.
