During practice for the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters, Holger Rune and Novak Djokovic attempted to imitate a previous photograph from two years prior, and they couldn’t help but chuckle the entire time. Rune, who gets along well with the Serb, has never held back while praising the top-ranked athlete in the world. On tour, the two players met one another twice. In the initial round of the 2021 US Open, Djokovic defeated the Dane in four sets, but the Dane rallied from a set down to win the biggest title of his career thus far in the 2022 Paris Masters final when facing the Serbian sensation.
The 19-year-old posted a few pictures with Djokovic on social media on Thursday, April 6. The Serb is seen helping the kid in a March 2021 snapshot as the latter flexes his left leg. Rune’s original caption for the picture was, “Always learn from the best.”
The Danish player wrote, “The journey continues, April 2023.” as they planned to replicate it.
