Denis Shapovalov is finally starting his 2019.
Currently ranked no.27, the Canadian had a long break from competitions to choose to be back to the tour just 1 week before the Australian Open in Auckland where he is seeded no.7
The top seeds are John Isner, Fabio Fognini, Marco Cecchinato, Pablo Carreno Busta, Roberto Bautista Agut, Hyeon Chung, Denis Shapovalov, and Gael Monfils.
The defending champion is Roberto Bautista Agut that last year defeated Juan Martin Del Potro in the final 6-1 4-6 7-5. The Spaniard may not defend his title this year as he is still competing in Doha where he is in the final following his win against Novak Djokovic.
