Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas seem to be the top favourites to conquer the upcoming tournament in Monte Carlo, especially after Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal retired from the tournament with injuries. Carlitos announced that he would not be able to participate in the tournament because he has been struggling with a hand injury. Rafael Nadal has not fully recovered from the hip injury that happened when he was playing in the Australian Open. The tournament also lost the participation of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Yoshihito Nishioka.

Novak Djokovic in 2023
Ranked world no.1, the Serbian played his last match on the 3rd of March when he was overcome by world no.4 Daniil Medvedev 6-4 6-4 in the semifinal in Dubai (draw).
At present, during this year the Serbian owns a compiled 15-1 win-loss record. Djokovic has won 2 titles in 2023 in Adelaide and Australian Open.
He is also scheduled to play in Banja Luka (Banja Luka Open) on the 17th of April and Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) on the 26th of April.
Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2023
Ranked world no.3 (career-high), the Greek played his last match on the 28th of March when he was defeated by world no.11 Karen Khachanov 7-6(4) 6-4 in the 4th round in Miami (draw).
Presently, during this year the Greek owns an overall 14-4 record. Stefanos Tsitsipas’s best result of the current season was getting to the final at the Australian Open.
He is also scheduled to play in Barcelona (Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell) on the 17th of April and Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) on the 26th of April.

Rafael Nadal in 2023
Now the world no.14, Nadal played his last match on the 18th of January when he surrendered to world no.55 Mackenzie Mcdonald 6-4 6-4 7-5 in the 2nd round in the Australian Open (draw).
Presently, during this year Nadal has a 1-3 win-loss record.
Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal played each other 3 times. The head to head is 2-1 for Nadal. Before, the last time they squared off, Carlos Alcaraz won 6-2 1-6 6-3 in the quarter in Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) in May 2022.
