Federer roars in Delhi

Roger Federer is almost at his prime once again. The Swiss Maestro showed that in this very moment he is second to none to defeat Djokovic in doubles and singles.

Roger stepped on the court when the situation wasn’t that great for his team (Micromax Indian Aces) against the Musafir.com UAE Royals. In fact, Ivanovic lost 6-5 to Mladenovic and Santoro/Sampras lost to Ivanisevic 6-3. Then Roger did partner again with Sania Mirza, but this time they lost 6-2 to Mladenovic/Zimonjic.

The icing on the cake was Roger’s doubles and singles. In doubles the Maestro teamed-up with Monfils against Cilic and Zimonjic. Halfway through Djokovic substitute Cilic and the crowd went on fire. Eventually the set went to the shout-out that Roger and Gael won 7-6 after being 3-6 down.

Roger and Nole really enlightened the atmosphere when they played singles. The set went to the shoot-out with both players giving their very best. Eventually Roger won the shoot-out, but then they had to keep on playing till Nole won his first service game (one of the “strange” rules of the IPTL).

It was a great show!
