In the last few weeks, Roger Federer stated that sometimes is difficult to pay a coach for listening something that you do not like, but that is the kind of relationship that you need to have if you want to improve your tennis and your results. Genie Bouchard may agree with that.

What happened to Genie Bouchard?
The Canadian was struggling hard in the 2nd round in Auckland against the world no.96 Bibiane Schoof. After losing the 1set, the Genie managed to bring the affair to the decider. Her coach Michael Joyce decided to talk to her to provide some key inputs ahead of the third set and after talking about some technical issues, he pointed out about Genie’s “fucked up attitude.”
Eventually, the pep talk worked well since Genie won the match 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-4.
