Soon after the current ATP 1000 in Miami, all the top tennis players will be focused on the so-called clay-court season. Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, John Isner, and Jeff Wolf will be the top four seeds and American players who compete next week in Houston.
The defending champion is Reilly Opelka, who is still injured and, therefore, will not take part in the competition. This is the latest entry list.
Frances Tiafoe in 2023
Ranked world no.14 (career-high), Tiafoe played his last match on the 27th of March when he capitulated to world no.59 Lorenzo Sonego 6-3 6-4 in the 3rd round in Miami (draw).
At the moment, during this season the American has achieved a 15-5 win-loss record. This year, the American clinched 1 title in Australia.
He is also scheduled to play in Barcelona (Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell) after Houston. The main draw will start on the 3rd of April.
Tommy Paul in 2023
Ranked no.19, the American played his last match on the 28th of March when he lost to world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz 6-4 6-4 in the 4th round in Miami (draw).
This season Tommy has achieved a composed 16-6 match record. Tommy Paul’s most significant achievement of this season was getting to the final in Acapulco.
Paul has scheduled to compete next in Houston (US Men’s Clay Court Championship). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 3rd of April.
Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul clashed against each other 5 times. Their current head to head is 3-2 for Tiafoe. The last time they played, Tommy Paul won 6-2 6-3 in the 1st round in Adelaide (Adelaide International 2) in January 2022.

This year John has a 4-6 match record. John Isner’s best performance of the current year was reaching the final in Dallas.
Jeff Wolf in 2023
Now the world no.50, Wolf played his last match on the 24th of March when he capitulated to world no.7 Andrey Rublev 7-6(3) 6-4 in the 2nd round in Miami (draw).
This season Wolf has a 9-7 record. Jeff Wolf’s most significant accomplishment of the current season was getting to the semifinal in Dallas.
John Isner and Jeff Wolf played each other twice. The head to head is 2-0 for Isner. Previously, the last time they locked horns, John Isner won 3-6 7-5 7-6(4) in the semifinal in Dallas (Dallas Open) on the 11th of February 2023.
