LIVE RANKINGS. Christopher Eubanks in tears in Miami after breaking in the top100

Eubank In Tears In Miami

Qualifier Christopher Eubanks was barely able to process what he had just accomplished minutes after a thrilling victory at the Miami Open. The American, ranked No. 119, fought past Grégoire Barrère 6-3, 7-6 (7) and overcame a lengthy rain delay on Monday evening to reach the fourth round of an ATP Masters 1000 for the first time.

The 26-year-old peaking at No. 102 in February came agonizingly close to making his long-awaited Top 100 debut, but he was unable to cross the finish line after laboring at ATP Challenger events and qualifying rounds. Eubanks put his head down and got back to work after finally deleting the ATP rankings app from his phone. The American became more dedicated to his routines, and gradually his tennis performance began to reflect those changes. Longer practices, more reps, and extra recovery were just a few examples of how he did this.

He qualified in Miami to return to the main draw for the first time in three years, and he made another enormous breakthrough by defeating Borna Coric 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to earn his first Top 20 victory.
