Few days ago Rafael Nadal said that he would have been at his 100% only for Indian Wells. That raised more than 1 eyebrow as fans were wondering if the King of Clay would have been ready for Melbourne.
So Rafa has immediately released another statement saying that he will be ready for the Australian Open “What I have to do this month is to get myself fit physically, progress my tennis as much as possible and lay the foundations.
If I do good work at home and I play well at the start of the year, that could be enough to arrive in Australia well prepared.”
Trying to interpret Rafa’s statements, this means that he will be “quite ready” to compete in Melbourne even if he will not be at his very best.
