Rafael Nadal is almost obsessed with his wonderful island Mallorca to get back there as soon as he can when touring around the world.

The Spaniard is the 11th man to get the award as the Favorite Son of Mallorca.  Rafa went to the ceremony with his family and his girlfriend Xisca.

Rafa in his speech said “I appreciate being a Mallorcan. The first thing that I do when I’m playing in other countries, whether I win or lose in the tournament, is to seek for the fastest way to go back to Mallorca.”

The King of Clay went back to the practice court just few days ago to recover his condition after the operation to his appendix.

]Rafa will play his first competitive match in Abu Dhabi (Mubadala World Tennis Championship) against either Monfils or Murray.
